Outside Air Humidity Radiation Shield

The SERIES RHRS Radiation Shield protects outside air humidity transmitters from rain and radiated heat. With the curved shape and color of the plates, air flow is able to move across the sensor to keep radiated temperatures from rooftops and surrounding surfaces from affecting humidity readings. For ease of installation, the Series RHRS has integral pipe mounting hardware which can be removed for surface mounting applications. The brackets on the Series RHRS are specifically designed to be installed on the Dwyer Series RHP outside air humidity transmitters with sintered filters.

Installation:

Loosen plastic probe retainer on radiation shield by unscrewing two retainer screws.
Slide humidity transmitter probe completely into radiation shield.
Screw plastic probe retainer to the radiation shield until the probe is firmly held in place. Do not over tighten the screws.

For Pipe Mounting:

Remove the u-bolt from the mounting bracket.

For Surface Mounting:

Remove the u-bolt and the screw holding the pipe retaining bracket.
Mark the outer two holes of the mounting bracket on the surface.
Drill the two holes marked in the previous step into the surface.
Attach the radiation shield to the surface.

The SERIES CDWP Carbon Dioxide Transmitters accurately monitor the CO2 concentration in industrial, agricultural, and indoor environments to help achieve energy savings. The IP54 die cast aluminum housing was designed for harsh environments making it ideal for animal husbandry and HVAC mechanical rooms. For increased sensor life and accuracy, a single-beam dual-wavelength non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor is used to eliminate light source aging affects. This sensing technology provides the highest level of accuracy compared to Automatic Baseline Correction methods, which can unintentionally shift the calibration based on CO2 levels and barometric pressure conditions.

Button Operation:

Battery Installation:

Use screwdriver to gently depress tab of the battery compartment.
Pull battery cover towards you, away from the unit.
Install the battery, taking note of polarities.
Replace battery cover. Cover is secure when tab returns to original position

Maintenance:
Upon final installation of the Compact DW-USB-LCD Data Logger, no routine maintenance is required. Leaving the logger plugged into your computer for an extended period of time will considerably lower its battery life. A periodic check of system calibration is recommended. Installation:

Cut hole in panel 2.80 x 1.14 inches (71 x 29 mm).
Apply silicone (or rubber gasket) around the perimeter of the hole to prevent leakage.
Insert unit into hole of panel.
Slide removable fitting clips onto unit from the back until secure to panel.
Remove back cover to wire unit.
Wiring diagram is displayed on the top of the unit

Maintenance/Repair:
Upon final installation of the Series HS Humidity Switch, no routine maintenance is required. A periodic check of system calibration is recommended. The devices are not field repairable and should be returned to the factory if recalibration or other services is required. The SERIES RH-R Humidity Transmitter is the ideal transmitter for those applications where space is limited. The compact sensor is protected by a removable filter. It can be mounted up to 16 feet away from the weatherproof base. The Series RH-R is ideal for environmental chambers, rubber bladder burst detection and air handler applications.

Installation:
Make sure all connections are in accordance with the job wiring diagram and in accordance with national and local electrical codes. Use copper conductors only.Do not make changes to the cable lengths. Sensors are factory calibrated for supplied length of cable. Optional lengths are available from the factory.

Caution:
Use electrostatic discharge precautions (e.g., use of wrist straps) during installation and wiring to prevent equipment damage.
Avoid locations where severe shock or vibration, excessive moisture or corrosive fumes are present. NEMA Type 4X (IP65) housings are intended for outdoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against wind-blown dust, rain, and hose directed water.
Do not exceed ratings of this device, permanent damage not covered by warranty may result. The 4 to 20 mA models are not designed for AC voltage operation.

OSA (Outside Air):

The transmitter should be mounted under an eave, shield, or in an area that is out of
the elements or direct sunlight.
Remove the cover plugs from the face of the unit and the top cover.
Position the transmitter where it is to be mounted and mark the mounting holes in each corner of the housing.
Drill or punch out marked locations.
Place the transmitter box over mounting holes on wall and align. Install wall mount screws (not provided) in mounting holes.
Proceed with wiring according to Figure 2.
Replace cover and cover plugs on the face of the unit.

Maintenance:
Upon final installation of the Series RH-R Temperature/Humidity Transmitter and the companion receiver, no routine maintenance is required. A periodic check of the system calibration is recommended. The Series RH-R is not field serviceable and should be returned if repair is needed (field repair should not be attempted and may void warranty). As individual zone dampers open and close, the system static pressure will rise and fall. In order to maintain proper airflow and static pressure through the HVAC system, a bypass system incorporating a floating type motorized damper and a static pressure control should be incorporated. A typical onoff pressure switch cannot operate in this application due to the high cycle rate that would result, eventually causing contact burnout. The BYDS static pressure control is equipped with a solid-state switching and timing circuit to enhance operation and improve long-term reliability in this demanding application. CONTROL OPERATION The BYDS Bypass Damper Switch is designed for use with a three wire floating point damper actuator used to control the static pressure on zone control systems requiring motorized bypass dampers. A bypass damper, bypasses air from the discharge air side of the HVAC unit back in the return air side. The air flow is modulated in order to maintain a constant static pressure in the system as individual zone dampers open and close. The static pressure control is equipped with solid-state switching which dramatically increases the life of the control. On an increase in static pressure the BYDS will send 24 volts out and start the actuator to drive open. When the static pressure reaches set-point the actuator will stop. After a ten second delay the actuator will start to drive the damper closed if there has not been an increase in static pressure. A green LED indicates when the damper is in the open position or being driven open. A 24 VAC transformer is required to power the BYDS control and damper actuator. User-selectable wind speed units include ftmin, ms, knots, mph, and kmhr. In addition to these functions, the 8912 is capable of measuring relative humidity, wet bulb temperature, dew point, and BTU capacity. A built-in sensor records ambient temperature in °F or °C. Model 8912 features include data hold, the ability to record minimum, maximum, and average readings on a single point, and an RS-232 interface setting.
